In the 1990s, following the epic performances of African football teams at the World Cup, a group of football enthusiasts of African origin came together at the Vidy stadium in Lausanne, with the aim of promoting local football. The initiative also facilitated the integration of young footballers who had recently arrived in Switzerland, helping them to integrate quickly by linking them up with community clubs such as Dardania FC, Espagnol FC, Porto FC, Turk Lausanne, Azzuri FC, Chile FC and others. It was in this spirit of social inclusion that the Mambo Cup & Party was born. Today, it aims to provide young people from immigrant backgrounds with an environment conducive to achieving their professional ambitions, whether in sport, entrepreneurship or any other field. We firmly believe that the Mambo Cup, with all hands on deck, fosters greater inclusion of different diasporas in a Switzerland that aspires to greater cultural diversity.
